By May 2016, she was already serving as the Jacksonville Bureau Chief for WITN-TV in North Carolina, where she took up several roles, which included leading end-to-end communication efforts and building and maintaining strong relationships with community leaders, public officials, and subject-matter experts, just to mention a few of her roles.
From June 2018 to October 2020, she served as a multimedia journalist/reporter at WKRN News 2 in Nashville, extending her experience and picking up more skills on the way. She provided live coverage from breaking news scenes as well as covering emerging issues from all across Tennessee.
Cotton later joined Denver 7, or better known as The Denver Channel, where she led editorial development for flagship evening newscasts on top of delivering live communications and covering emotionally charged events such as mass casualty incidents and natural disasters.
In February 2023, she joined Fox News TV as a national correspondent and has since become one of the faces of the network in New York, serving as an on-air representative on high-stakes news incidents. Since joining Fox, she has covered several major stories, including anti-war campus protests across the United States, the 2024 assassination of then presidential candidate Donald Trump, and the trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs, just to mention a few.
